Who Said Anything About 40 weeks?
It's typically 40 weeks for one to carry a fetus and have it develop into a ready-for-the-world human being. Obviously there are exceptions to this estimation, my child being one of those who deviated from the norm. To tell you the truth, if Vivienne could speak, I could imagine her telling us that she had always planned to come this early. She was sending us the signs. They may have been minute, but they were all tell-tale signals. Who is the foolish one now!? We should have been the ones to be more prepared. She on the other hand had done all the work and was ready to play ahead of schedule. Silly parents.
At eight weeks our little bundle of wonder is already eating with increasing fervor, loves engaging those around her, is very playful and so very strong for her age. Today is her due date, 8/21/14, and it just seems so odd to think that she could still be residing in my belly. She is so fully developed and so uniquely herself it honestly boggles my mind that this child could be floating around, suspended in liquid, waiting to greet us. She did us such a favor by coming early and beyond everything, entering into the atmosphere healthy and well.
40 weeks? Well...not necessary this time around.
